ReplyDeleteFor a god diction de have to learn each sound and identify them correctly, because there are words that have different meanings and almost the same. The English British is better because is the original English.

ReplyDeleteThe differences that I see between American English and British English is the pronunciation. It's not the same hear a British person talk that hear a American person, in some cases is more difficult understand a British person for it pronunciation.
I think that we make mistakes with the pronunciation because we don't talk and we don't know the IPA chart. The best way to improve our pronunciation is talking that's what I think.

I think that the difference between American and British English is in the accent of each one, in the pronunciation and that there are words that change. The mistake that many make in the pronunciation is that we pronounce the words just as they are written and many times the pronunciation is not correct.

It is very interesting because it explains what are the most common mistakes when speaking English. The difference between British English and American English is that many words do not have the same pronunciation but mean the same thing. It is this video I can also see that two consonants together without a vowel is more difficult to pronounce so is very important to practice listening for a correct pronunciation.

What do you find interesting about the video? I found interesting about the video is that he said that one of most difficult thing in English is the spelling and pronunciation and could be difficult from spelling to prononce a word because the same letter it could be proncunfed diferenntly because the spelling in English its not phonetic.

We make mistakes because we get confused with sound of word and then we pronounced it wrong.

ReplyDeleteThere is something that he says in the video that catch attention, and is about the way we try to pronounce a word when we are not native speakers. Since we only shadow trying to get the correct pronunciation, hardly ever we pay attention to those little but very important details, which is the articulation of each sound in a word. Where does the sound comes from, where should the tongue be or what shape is the mouth. Little but powerful tips.
2. What differences do you see between American English and British English (this video is from a British speaker)?
Starting with the pronunciation until the the grammar of each one. The most noticeable difference between American and British English is vocabulary (Again, pronunciation and spelling). There are hundreds of words that are different.
But they are not so different after all, with the exception of some regional dialects, most Brits and Americans can understand each other without too much difficulty. So, thinking on it, if you can understand one ,you should be able to understand the other.
3. Why do we make mistakes when pronouncing a word?
Again, we try to pronounce words only listening to a superficial pronunciation, but not every body spend some time studing the correct sound or pronunciation of each letter, the correct articulation of the sound, what organs of the speech are involved… Is not that we are doing a bad job, the thing is, that we need to focus in those detail, in order to get a better english pronunciation.

British and american english are different because they have different phonetics, I find British speakers have an accent.

Because we are not used to listen how american or british people speak, we just read and a lot of the times assume how words are pronounced, that why its better to watch videos or movies in english so you know the pronunciaition of some words.
For me the video is really interesting because he teach you the way to pronounce every word.
